Equine Head & Neck

Dissection Day

7th and 8th February 2026

Bysshe Court Farm, Surrey, RH6 9JU

JOIN EQUINE PROFESSIONALS JUST LIKE YOU WHO WANT TO ....

Learn more to help more horses...

Here's what you'll be learning...

Anatomy - what goes where & why

Refresh your anatomy knowledge starting with a classroom based lecture from our vet. Then get 'hands on' with our led dissection to discover exactly what goes where, how and why it all works together. We will be examining nerves, muscles, guttural pouches, the hyoid apparatus, the eye and so much more

Diseases & pathologies

Our dissection days allow our attendees to really look close up at the presentation of various diseases and pathologies. The training will cover Facet Joint OA, Wobblers, ECVIM, .Guttural Pouch Mycosis, TMJ Disease, Corneal ulcers/ uveitis, Headshaking and so much more.

Prevention & helping horses

The ethos behind NKC Equestrian Training is helping horses. The dissection day will look at the steps we can take as riders, owners and professionals to prevent disorders in the head and neck, and improve understanding of signs and symptoms that so often get missed.

Hands on

This training is a led dissection by vet Kate Granshaw, but you will have ample opportunity to get as hands on as you wish throughout the day.

Questions answered

One of the biggest highlights for our delegates is asking questions, and the discussions throughout the day. Often attendees have a particular part of the head or neck that they wish to see or discuss further.

Collaborative learning

We appreciate and value our amazing delegates giving up their time to learn with us, which is why we host a private WhatsApp group after the event where we share photos and videos, and allow other participants to do the same so that the learning continues.

We know that dissection isn't for everyone, BUT ....

Dissection is the best way to understand the equine head and neck

there is so much that you can't learn out of a textbook

Dissection can seem a bit odd...

We get that.

We love horses too.

Which is why our dissection days are carried out with full respect to the specimens.

We feel very privileged to learn from these horses, and specimens are prepared in a clinical manner so that we can take the emotion out and focus on learning.

This training day is perfect for ...

equine therapists and current students

horse owners who really want to learn

trainers, saddlers, farriers and coaches

What to expect from the day...

#1 Veterinary expert speaker

The equine therapists, professionals and owners who attend our training days do so because of the content.

It is great.

What makes the content great is our veterinary speaker Kate Granshaw. As a lameness and poor performance expert Kate has a vast array of clinical knowledge, as well as so many practical insights and suggestions for both owners and professionals.

There's no - one size fits all approach to our dissection days. We want you to learn, get your questions answered and come away feeling inspired.

It's not a lecture.

It's an immersive training opportunity.

#2 Small groups

Our dissection days are set up for small groups, which is why we run the same course twice on one day. We don't want to pack lots of people in. We want 12 amazing individuals to experience an incredible learning opportunity.

Unlike Conferences, Congresses and other training days you will get to have your say and see everything you need to.

AND we want your learning to continue after the day which is why we give you access to the training materials, and the chance to ask any questions after the event via our private WhatsApp group.

#3 All inclusive

We believe that on a training day you should be looked after. Now we can't promise you luxury surroundings (after all this is a super practical day), but you can expect arrival refreshments, lunch and all the tea, coffee and nibbles you need throughout your training.

This isn't your standard training day with stale biscuits and lots of boring power points.

Expect energy, lightbulb moments and connection, and really nice food.

This is the place to be for therapists, owners and professionals who want to help more horses in 2025.
